Job Summary:
Responsible for all facility and office services related to the operations including building and office utility services, office space planning or redesign, shipping & receiving, cafeteria/vending, security, environmental compliance, company vehicles, building and grounds maintenance, mail services, and central storage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates the layout/re-design of office/lab/shop facilities with department heads to make the move as efficiently as possible. Arranges with outside vendors to accomplish move with as little down-time or disruption as possible to facility.
Establishes and implements a maintenance and service program for all facility pool cars. Schedules use of cars and maintains all records.
Prepares detailed budget for department and administers within the framework of budget.
Continuously investigates and evaluates new techniques and technical methods and procedures for possible application to improve efficiencies or to reduce costs.
Responsible for maintenance of facility(s) to include arranging service contracts through Purchasing, for cleaning of offices, landscaping, snow removal, building and grounds maintenance, etc.
Ensures vending or cafeteria operation is handled in an efficient manner and coordinates with Purchasing, contracts as necessary to provide these services to the facility.
Provides for building and ground security contracting through Purchasing with appropriate agencies for service to ensure safety and well-being of employees and visitors, as well as the Company property and equipment.
Recommends improvements and desirable modifications in organization, procedures, policies, standards, specifications, methods, processes, and equipment within area of supervision.
Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques a plus.
Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Supervisory experience.
