Payroll Tax AnalystLocation: Houston, TX / Hybrid
Duration: 12 months
Description:Job Summary :Performs payroll tax functions on federal, state and local levels, including filing large volumes of tax returns on a, quarterly and annual basis, and works in a call center environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Other minor duties may be assigned.
Assist in researching data to ensure employment tax compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax authorities
Resolve general payroll tax issues
Handle agency inquiries and assist in resolution
Assist in the quarter-end and year-end processing, produce all quarterly and annual employment tax returns including Forms 941, Forms W-2, etc.
Complete special projects and reconciliations based on Sarbanes Oxley controls
Work in a call center environment responding to employees inquiries of payroll tax issues
Prepare responses to various audits as required

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
Education and Experience :Required: Associates Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or similar area of study
Required: Five or more years experience in Payroll tax reporting or equivalent work experience
Required: Working knowledge of Payroll and Payroll Tax Regulations
Required: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle Cloud, and MasterTax.
Required: Experience in a multi-state payroll or payroll tax department
Preferred: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Tax, Business Administration, or similar area of study
Preferred: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Preferred: Ability to summarize problems, resolve issues and generate reports, as required
Preferred: Strong time management skills, must be detailed oriented, and able to make decisions independently
Preferred: Canadian Payroll Tax experience
Preferred: MasterTax software experience
Payroll tax experience in a multi-jurisdictional company.
MS Excel (format, review and work massive amounts of data)
Communication/Customer Service (communicate effectively with colleagues, management team, other departments and vendors, providing excellent service to our employees)
Must Have Skill (Top 3):Oracle Cloud Experience
Master Tax Experience
Time Management (self-manage to ensure all daily tasks are completed and deadlines are met)
