Alaant Workforce Solutions is partnering with Saratoga County, NY to fill a number of Attorney positions!

These roles include: Assistant District Attorney (Criminal Law) and Assistant County Attorneys (experience with Social Services, healthcare or general public service are pluses)!

Areas of knowledge preferred (any of the following): Criminal Law, Court proceedings/public service,
Child Protective Services, Long-Term/Preventative Services, Foster Care, Health care.

Hours and Benefits for the Attorney roles:

Salary is $96,071

Responsibilities (depending on which area) for the Attorney roles may include:

Attendance/Representation at court hearings and conferences, initiating and responding to discovery demands, motion practice, witness preparation, and associated trial work.
The Attorney would also need to prosecute and defend appeals to the Appellate Division, Third Department and to the Court of Appeals as needed.
Act as liaison between Board of Supervisors, County Attorney, 1^st Assistant County Attorney and the Department of Social Services.
Knowledge and expertise in areas such as County Law, General Municipal law, Public Officer Law, Real Property Tax Law, Bankruptcy Law, civil procedure, and environmental law shall be preferred.
Assist in the legal review and counsel of all legal documentation, contracts and other information pertaining to all County Departments, officials and employees;
Acts as liaison between County Attorney, 1st Assistant County Attorney and all assigned County Departments, officials and employees;
Prepare for and participates in court proceedings as necessary;
Review pending cases and documentation to determine recommended disposition.
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing policies and procedures for assigned agencies and departments.

Requirements for the Attorney roles:

Admission to the NYS Bar and licensure to practice Law in the State of New York; AND at least two (2) years of experience overall (preferred)
Emphasis on appellate work, court/trial experience preferred
Knowledge and expertise in areas such as County Law, General Municipal law, Public Officer Law, Real Property Tax Law, Bankruptcy Law, civil procedure, and environmental law shall be preferred.
Should have a strong background in research and writing
Admission to the Federal bar preferred but not required.
