PMO Manager

Position Location: first 90 days will be 100% on-site, following this onboarding period 1 WFH day per week.

This is a hands-on leadership role which includes individual Project Manager responsibilities as well as PMO leadership. As the PMO Manager, you will be responsible for implementing project management processes, ensuring business standards are upheld, directing and prioritizing projects, overseeing project team members to ensure project completion, and communicating status updates to senior leadership. This individual will be responsible for standing up a PMO for the organization and overseeing the development and completion of technology and business projects. A well-established company (65+ years) in the insurance industry is seeking a PMO Manager.

Position Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant Project Management experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• PMP Certification is preferred, not required
• Strong experience with MS Project
• 5+ years' experience working in and leading a Project Management Office
• Ability and desire to serve as a Project Manager
• Experience managing Agile software development and/or technology implementation projects
• Experience leading business projects
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across various departments including technology and business focused team members
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Experience presenting to executive and senior level leadership
• Exhibit strong attention to detail, time management, and decision-making skills;
• Must be able to perform well in a fast paced environment

Position Responsibilities:

• Promote teamwork and the development of others.
• Clearly communicate the progress of projects and ongoing status of groups to internal and external stakeholders
• Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification.
• Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
• Deliver strong and strategic relationship management, communication and reporting. Identify and remediate issues
• Draft and implement project management office policies and processes.
• Oversee the development of the Project Management Office and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards.
• Providing project status updates, including timeline and budget tracking, to executives.
• Analyzing data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
• Planning and project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
• Collaborates with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects.
• Lead and manage the Project Management Office Team.
