The role
The Training Support Specialist- Flight Checks assists the Training Support Manager(TSM) with ensuring practical evaluations are scheduled in the most efficient and timely manner possible. Facilitates scheduling between Training Centers and Designated Pilot Examiners (DPE) as necessary. Maintains the DPE Special Emphasis program. Schedules the movement of applicants and/or DPEs around the country. Forwards any training deficiencies noted during the practical test to TSM - Flight Checks.
Responsibilities
- Works with each training Center TSS and/or Training Center Flight Standards Instructor (Lead) for scheduling practical tests with a DPE and to evaluate needs at the ATP locations for prioritizing the imports.
- Ensure that all DPEs have Special Emphasis Supplements on file for each type of checkride, builds and updates SES files
- Coordinate logistics of relocating a DPE to an ATP Training Center. (Importing)
- Provide feedback to the training support and flight standards departments on any training issues discovered during interactions with students, instructors, or DPEs
- Works with TSM-Flight Checks to monitor pass rates, feedback, and other data trends to determine areas of focus
- Maintains data related to examiners and imports and creates reports to help analyze the data.
- Works directly with students and provides backup to other Training Support duties and tasks
- Embraces and demonstrates ATP’s core values in day to day activities
- Makes Safety Focused Decisions when dealing with Instructors, DPEs and applicants
- Demonstrates Consistent Professionalism while working with the checkride team
- Shows Integrity with Students Investment
- Completes other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Customer service-oriented work experience required
- Aviation experience, specifically an understanding of FAA certification, required
- Pilot Certificate(s) required
- Certified Flight Instructor Certificate(s) preferred
- Some college coursework preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
