ABOUT THE ROLE
Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated UX Researcher to join our team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security.
As a UX Researcher, you will partner with other UX Researchers, Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and our community to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for exploration. You’ll collaborate on testing concepts during development and evaluating products and services post-launch. Your insights will play a crucial role in enhancing our products and shaping our research practices at Second Front.
Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Plan and facilitate multiple UX research projects across projects to help us build new features, validate new concepts, and iterate on existing ones.
- Determine appropriate research methods and handle the end-to-end logistics of scoping, recruiting, and execution for your research projects.
- Communicate both tactical and strategic insights and recommendations in a consumable, engaging way using artifacts, such as reports, journey maps, personas, wireframes and other formats that guide our team towards a delightful user experience.
- Work with Product Managers and Designers to define your research roadmap by proposing and triaging research requests, aligning on what is the highest priority.
- Advocate for user needs throughout the product development process.
Skills You’ll Bring to Our Team:
- You’ve conducted comprehensive research for B2B SaaS products
- At least three years of experience conducting research in a product team, working directly with customers
- Maintain professionalism while conducting research and communicating with customers, prospects, and industry leaders/experts
- Comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, and know when to apply them
- Experience with both moderated and unmoderated remote testing methodologies
- You present research insights and recommendations clearly and confidently, regardless of audience.
- You think about the value of research in terms of product development and outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and hit deliverables and deadlines with limited oversight
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and chaos in a fast paced, high growth environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field OR comparable UX research experience.
- Experience with mixed-method research
- Have a strong interest in matters of national security
- Have an inquisitive mindset, ready to learn about and explore new concepts
