Job Title: Estimator I
Location: Chandler, Az (Chicago Street & 56^th Street)
Pay: $55,000-$75,000k/Salary

Analyzes specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for sign projects, or services by performing the following duties personally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists
• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates to be used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work
• Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data
• Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates
• Organizes and manages centralized cost data and formal process to support cost estimates
• Analyzes current and completed projects to compare estimated to actual costs to determine reason for discrepancies
• Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs
• Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
• Maintain working knowledge of all facets of the sign industry and most construction trades to include up and coming trends and technologies

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists Estimating Manager with duties
• Conducts field surveys
• Coordinates permitting
• Represents estimating department in project meetings
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
• Interacts daily with customers in-person, electronically, and on the telephone working to determine customer needs and expectations for sign project estimates
• Interacts daily with employees in the field and in the office to discuss projects and resolve any customer issues or other business matters

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

Certificate from a college or technical school in a related discipline required; or six months or more demonstrated experience in estimating sign projects or related areas; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Six months or more demonstrated experience in estimating sign projects or related areas
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
• Ability to apply mathematical calculations regarding estimates
• Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, design, internet, order processing, project management, and manufacturing software
• Ability to communicate in person, electronically, and over the telephone
• Ability to review documents to estimate projects according to customer needs and expectations
