Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our 2nd shift operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of building trades tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and minor electrical work. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in maintaining our facilities, grounds, and equipment. Strong teamwork and independent problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this position. In addition to building maintenance, responsibilities may extend to lawn care and snow removal as needed.
Responsibilities:
Perform various building trades tasks, such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and minor electrical work.
Maintain and repair buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment.
Work both independently and as part of a team on construction or repair projects.
Execute lawn care and snow removal duties as required.
Demonstrate strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure work environment.
Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and management to achieve maintenance goals.
Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical degree is a plus.
Proven experience in building trades, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and minor electrical work.
Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Valid driver's license is required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks.
Knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines related to building maintenance.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Flexibility to work 2nd shift and occasional weekends as needed.
