We are hiring a full-time Senior Research Associate for our Research & Development department. This person will play a critical role in developing and launching new instrument, software, and consumables and collaborating in new technology initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in developing novel concepts and designs. Execute laboratory research for Gator label free detection assay development, ELISA, proteins detection, Immunoassay and molecular diagnosis.
- Lead verification and system integration activities for new instruments, software, and consumables launches.
- Work cross-functionally with the engineering and software team to ensure new developments can seamlessly integrate with existing systems.
- Create necessary technical documents for new systems according to the QMS.
- Conduct proof-of-concept studies and initiate projects for new algorithm improvements.
- Partner with the QC/MFG team on product transfer, troubleshooting, and quality improvement.
- Collaborate and assist other scientists on product development.
- Use good documentation skills and record on electronic lab notebook.
- Communicate results and conclusions to aid in decision making in a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with the QC/MFG team on product transfer, troubleshooting and quality improvement.
- Generate data for marketing materials.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry / molecular biology or other related fields.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in biochemistry, analytical or molecular biology laboratory is required; Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Prior experience with analytical instrument experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of immunoassay (e.g. ELISA), antibody engineering, Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) or BioLayer Interferometry (BLI) is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and experience in giving scientific presentations.
- Be a dedicated team player.
Position Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, and/or move 20 lbs.
- This role will require long periods of sitting and standing.
- The employee will be required to use hands for computer work and pipetting.
- Required biosafety training upon hiring.
