Summary:
Responsible for developing and conducting formalized training programs for both clinical and non-clinical Care Management staff including information for new hires and for ongoing development of existing staff.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and coordinate development of course catalogs in conjunction with leadership to consist of ongoing training opportunities within Care Management
- Regularly assess and analyze training needs, identify gaps and recommend solutions from internal and external sources (must be knowledgeable of external training sources)
- Use knowledge of external training resources to provide opportunities for ongoing training and development.
- Work with company leadership to assess and further develop training programs as needed and interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for content gathering and validation
- Responsible for educating all staff in basic managed care information as it relates to department functions, programs, processes and systems appropriate to the position(s).
- Develops, implements and updates training manuals to reflect new approaches to training, departmental/system process changes and new managed care programs.
- Prepare all training materials and develop training packages and all related materials assigned by leadership.
- Provide on-going training for Care Management interventions, best practices and clinical updates,
- Participate in development, testing and implementation of new programs and systems as assigned.
- Provide new hire training on Divisional processes, CareAdvance system, and program specifics.
- Coordinate administrative activities with the training supervisor and operations management, including class evaluations, updating files, class registration, scheduling classes, new hire system/software access, personnel information, and attendance management.
- Share performance information with operations and training management in an effort to determine additional needs and/or next steps needed with respect to trainees.
- Other duties may be assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in instructional design, human resources, adult learning or related field or five (5) years of experience in training and organizational development with experience in instructional design.
- Knowledge of care management programs (case management, disease management, care transitions etc) (preferred)
- Registered Nurse with current Michigan License (preferred)
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience with client (preferred)
- Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles.

Qualifications:
- Expertise in training development for various delivery methodologies: instructor led training, web based training, job aids, virtual classroom training, and blended learning
- Exceptional project management skills
- Proficiency in the following computer tools and systems
- MS Office
- Visio
- Captivate/Camtasia
- Ability to quickly grasp and articulate complex concepts and subject matter.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship skills with all levels of management and staff
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Proven problem identification, analytical, resolution and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of Health Plan operations
- Ability to conduct and participate in meetings or seminars in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be willing to act as a "change agent” on behalf of Care Management and positively support the inception of new programs, systems, processes, software, and tools.
