ABOUT THE BROAD
The Broad is an internationally renowned contemporary art museum founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, is home to 2,000 works of most prominent holdings of postwar and contemporary art worldwide and presents an active program of rotating temporary exhibitions. Since opening in September 2015, The Broad has welcomed more than 4 million visitors, and has one of the youngest, most diverse audiences of any museum in the country.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Executive Assistant to the Founding Director provides sophisticated administrative support to the museum’s highest ranking executive leader, who is actively engaged in the global art landscape, and defines the curated vision for the overall Broad collection. You will work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff, and serve as the Founding Directors gatekeeper, liaison to artists, galleries, peer institutions, The Broad’s board of directors, outside contractors, vendors, and VIP visitors. Administrative work includes but is not limited to the following baseline tasks: calendar and scheduling mastery, impeccable attention to detail, thoughtful and responsive coordination of global business travel, analytically engage in market research that directly supports the Founding Directors focus on art acquisitions. You will complete expense reports, as well as possess an actionably noticeable passion for a crucial support role, and express a budding business acumen for the acquisition of art. Within The Broad’s dynamic environment, the Executive Assistant triages a high volume of correspondence, creating data-driven presentations for meetings including board meetings, and processing contributions and documents on behalf of The Broad Art Foundation.

CANDIDATE PREFERENCES:
EXAMPLES OF BASELINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and manage director’s travel itineraries, accommodations, and related transportation.
· Provide curatorial assistance for artwork and art market research supporting the Founding Director’s work on acquisitions and programming.
o Track and research artwork acquisitions, offerings, and referrals (e.g., via galleries or auction houses)
o Track gallery and art fair calendars as well as invitations, previews, and events
o Monitor peer museum programming and events as they relate to The Broad and assist with maintaining institutional awareness of such events and exhibitions.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting most of the time with some bending and reaching and occasionally lifting office supplies. Standing, walking, and bending periodically. Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.

COVID SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
SCHEDULE
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Working hours are from 9am-6pm. Must be available for occasional special events on evenings or weekends. Given the museum’s mission as a public venue and the nature of its director’s work, the EA will be required to work onsite frequently.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary for the position is $85,000 to $95,000 per year.
