Systems Administrator
The DB Engineer is an Engineering role reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager in the IT Engineering Department. The role requires work to be done on forward looking projects, initiatives, Tier 4 support and leading a technical team of DBE's.
The Systems Administrator can expect mid to high complexity in the technology field dedicated to our Stability and Scalability program assisting in relocation our current Datacenters to CoLo facilities. Rebuilding and move Oracle and SQL Databases and applications.
• BS in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent) with minimum 6 years of database engineering experience
• Experience implementing mission critical Oracle OLTP and DSS databases.
• Min. 6 years of hands on experience with Oracle 10g/11g/12g databases with adequate skills on Oracle RAC, ASM, DataGuard, back-ups, high-availability, scalability, disaster recovery.
• Solid understanding of physical and logical database design
• Deep understanding of networking and storage technologies related to databases
• Understanding of middleware technologies as it relates to database connectivity
• Experience working with MS SQL Server 2005-2014 databases
• Good communication skills and ability to interface with Project Managers as a Technical Lead
• Hands-on Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting
• Experience working with SOX/GLBA/PCI regulated financial organizations is a plus.
• Experience in vitalizing databases on VMWare is a huge plus.
