Job Profile Summary:
The Intake Associate is a point of contact for both internal BCBST Staff and external stakeholders including practitioners, billing agencies and corporate contracting entities. This position is responsible for receiving, researching, inventorying, tracking, labeling and assigning Client correspondence, appeals and contract documents. The credentialing/recredentialing information and documents are highly confidential; therefore, the records must be secured and managed closely to reduce legal risks and/or ramifications.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
o Receive and evaluate incoming correspondence, contracts, applications and returned mail.
o Research documentation received to ensure information has not been previously received and to confirm documentation meets departmental requirements for distribution and handling.
o Input tracking information into Inventory application and distribute to Credentialing and Contracting areas in a timely manner.
o Coordinate and execute large mailings to external practitioners.
o Assemble files in an organized way that is defensible in legal actions.
o Ensure all correspondence/contracts and credentialing information is imaged appropriately.
o Coordinate and control imaging and records retention filing of correspondence/contracts and credentialing information.
o Scan and key departmental provider satisfaction survey results into appropriate database.
o Electronically retrieve, print and distribute various reports as directed.
o Performs other projects, tasks, or duties requiring special emphasis on specific groups or types of providers or practitioners as needed to assist department in meeting its overall objectives.

Job Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a claims adjudication or provider-focused role required.
Skills/Certifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)\
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
This job requires Microsoft Office testing.
Ability to maintain Confidentiality.
