Description:
The Medical Assistant or Health Assistant II provides clinical and administrative support according to coverage needs in the Internal Medicine and Medical Specialties clinics.
Clinical duties include, but are not limited to: preparing examination rooms, performing EKGs and waived testing, maintaining patient flow, provide patient instruction regarding preparation of tests/procedures, prepares medical records ensuring that confidentiality is maintained and assisting clinicians during examinations and minor procedures.
Administrative duties include: assisting patients on the phone and in person, checking patients in and collecting copays, scheduling appointments (including outside tests), performing transcription and other general office responsibilities.
Required High school diploma or equivalent.
A graduate of Medical or Nursing Assistant program.
Patient service experience.
Certification as Medical Assistant, CPR certification
Preferred:
Experience working with an electronic medical record.
Bilingual skills. Required occupational training, certifications or license(s) Required High school diploma or equivalent.
