Role Overview:
The Metrology Technology Group focuses on all aspects of metrology for use in
semiconductor R&D.
As the industry nears the limits of physical scaling, the industry is rapidly evolving toward the utilization of complex 3D structures which are fabricated using new processes and materials.
As these structures become more vertical in nature, there are significant challenges to existing metrology techniques.
In addition to optimizing currently existing metrology capabilities, this individual will provide advanced metrology support and guidance to ongoing development and in identifying/developing Client techniques in this rapidly evolving semiconductor space, thus enabling organization to continue to achieve world-class results.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with company's technologists to identify and drive specific metrology research and development projects within organization.
• Develop or identify new or modified metrology techniques necessary to ensure organization's process quality.
-Establish and implement a program to ensure that all metrology tools are operational
and in spec
-Create and revise standard operating procedures as needed
-Document tasks and results for future reference
-Assist in interpretation of physical and chemical behaviors as part of process
characterization
- Work with engineers to propose criteria and format for hardware and process evaluations
· Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot process problems
· Compile and analyze metrology data from the evaluations to determine appropriate
limits and variables for process or material specifications
Qualifications:
• PhD in Material Science, Physics, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, Chemistry
• Hands on experience with multiple semiconductor metrology techniques such as CD-SAXS, SIMS,
SEM, TEM, EDS, EELS, FIB.
-Experience with CD-SAXS is highly preferred.
-Experience in semiconductor processing, Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiment methods
Communication and team skills
• Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work in teams as well as individually
• Must possess the ability and desire to work as a part of a multicultural team
