NRT is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Nashville, TN.
In this position, you will work with the Controller and other members of the Finance team to enhance the existing accounting function and to help make it a collaborative and efficient operation. As part of the team, you will provide timely, accurate, and insightful information to stakeholders within NRT and its parent entity, Bulk Handling Systems (BHS). You will participate in various multi-functional teams working on continuous process improvements, specific problem-solving opportunities, as well as perform the traditional accountant role, including some transactional work.
If you have these qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities...
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA or CMA a plus
- 3+ years’ experience working in manufacturing, construction, or other job-costing industry
- Experience with ERP systems, generating and analyzing financial statements, and reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Hands on approach with a high degree of personal initiative
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Preparing month-end journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
- Assisting with billing, inventory and accounts payable transactional efforts, as necessary
- Assisting with the generation of subsidiary financial statements
- Maintaining intercompany account balances and reconciliation
- Compiling documentation on job costs and company production costs
- Analyzing and maintaining manufacturing labor and overhead rates through variance reporting and in collaboration with management
- Maintaining, reviewing and improving systems and procedures for cost accounting functions
- Assisting the Controller in the preparation and maintenance of the company budget and financial planning process
- Evaluating financial information, preparing financial reports, and maintaining records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities
- Assisting with year-end, bank, and other regulatory audits (i.e., Schedule B tax audits)
- Establishing and maintaining accounting records for fixed asset management
- Creating and maintaining new reports to satisfy management needs
- Working with other accountants to be able to provide back up as needed (e.g., monthly cost reports, multi-state sales [CA, etc.] tax filings, inventory control, ERP maintenance)
