Electrical Controls Technician

NRT is looking for Electrical Controls Technicians to join their team based in Nashville, TN.

In this position, you will be responsible for complete controls system installations for Material Recovery Facilities located around the world. You will work as part of the Software Integration Team to perform controls testing, commissioning and start-up.

If you have these qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities...

• Minimum of an associate’s degree with an electrical, electrical engineering or electro-mechanical concentration
• Five (5) years’ experience working with electrical controls and/or managing large industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of creating schematics and designing/building control panels required
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix5000 and Siemens TIA Portal V18 required
• Previous experience with Siemens S7, WinCC, Ignition, SQL Databases, or PC networking experience a plus
• Multi-lingual skills desirable
• Strong organizational skills and be self-motivated
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is critical
• Strong presentation, and written skills including ability to report out to all levels
• Courage to take ownership for finding resolutions for issues and challenges
• Ability to look for ways to improve upon current processes and provide recommendations for improvement

And are interested in these responsibilities...

• Traveling extensively to job sites (up to 90%), including potential international travel
• Owning assigned controls project until project closeout is accomplished, working as the execution side of Software Integration team to complete testing and commissioning of project at customer facilities
• Completing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the controls system including PLC/HMI and control panels at customer locations
• Maintaining project motor/IO list from engineering handoff through the service handoff of controls projects
• Being assigned multiple projects at one time with responsibility for hitting all associated project deadlines
• Completing Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for the controls system including I/O, e-stops, motor rotations, hydraulics, adjusting system and preparing for plant commissioning
• Updating and maintaining electrical schematics throughout the installation process using AutoCAD
• Working with the Project Manager and Installation Team to guide 3rd party electrical installers to ensure quality/timely work is performed
• Providing remote controls support and coordination as needed until project closeout is accomplished
