Robotics Engineering Manager

• Manager are looking for a talented, experienced, creative, and passionate Robotics Engineer who will support the advancement of robotics and automation applications in QSR to improve customer and team member experiences along with unit economics through innovation. This role will be focused on researching, developing, and deploying robotics and automation solutions partnering with internal cross functional terms, external startups, academia, and existing restaurant equipment manufacturers.

• The Robotics and Engineering manager will partner closely with engineering, operations, and finance functions across company to develop solutions, implement robotics and automation innovation while ensuring delivery of impactful solutions for the business. The role will work directly with internal and external stakeholders leveraging an ecosystem of suppliers and startups enabling the client Innovation strategy.

• Enable the breakthrough of core robotics and automation technologies with cross functionals teams, external suppliers, and 3rd party consultants by taking advantage of available emerging technologies to identify/solve key technical and operational problems.

• Partner directly with client RED labs team to test robotic systems in restaurant applications while conducting live and artificial simulations
• Partner with cross functional finance and operations teams to develop business case and ROI models
• Develop accelerated life cycle testing models, durability testing methods, operational performance testing standards, troubleshooting protocols and PM schedules for ongoing reliability assurances
• Identify, design, develop, and deploy innovative robotics and automation solutions that utilize various methodologies such as Cartesian and six-axis robots, as well as selective-compliance-articulated robot arms (SCARAs) to support engineering and operations initiatives that can be scaled by our brands
• Track the relevant technology frontiers in academia and industry, and directly contribute to the strategic plan, goal setting for both mid- and long-term research and development

• 3 key attributes: Help define vision, learn the business and be able to bring their set of experiences and apply to the restaurant industry. Learn the business, identify where automation is applicable, and then bring those sets of experience to define how we can do that

• Bring in futuristic ideas and always plan for new ideas in the pipeline
• This position is more hands-on type of position

• Core technical robotics experience, in the automation space
• Ability to work well and build strong relationships with team members
• MS or BS in Mechanical/Robotics/Electrical Engineering equivalent
• 5+ years' experience in robotics, engineering design, product development, commercialization along with hands on prototyping and manufacturing experience
• 2+ years' experience in project management and cross-functional team leadership
• CAD and 3D Modeling experience (SolidWorks Preferred)

• Experience designing robotic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems leveraging sensor and computer vision technologies

• Experience in the foodservice industry

• Self-starter and self-motivated to deliver results while challenging the status quo
• Proficiency in restaurant modeling/simulation platforms
• Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
