IT Senior Project Manager for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.
Work arrangements:- Partially Onsite, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, other days as required by project planned deliverables.
- W2 position; 12 months
Summary or Position description:- The IT Senior Project Manager will lead several projects (1-5) in a strong matrix environment executing Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
- Developing and monitoring project plans, communication plans, risk management plans, and project artifacts from project initiation to post implementation/closure.
- Ensures project deliverables are complete on time, on budget, within scope, and in accordance with Client standards:
- Responsible daily for the development, execution, and maintenance of project plans and project communications.
- Facilitating effective communications between all parties involved in the project, including meetings, correspondence/recaps, status reports and other project artifacts per Client standards.
- Monitors resource requirements and assigned deliverables based on project specifications.
- Ensures resources are assigned to meet project objectives while managing project hours budgeted.
- Identifies and manages tasks and issues that impact the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort to ensure delivery as planned.
- Provides both written and verbal project status updates upon request.
- Should be versed in IT SDLC as this is a senior level position.

Preferred skills:Preferred Certifications:Minimum required work experience:- 5 years of IT experience in a leadership capacity, including 2 years of experience leading two or more concurrent project teams.
- Completion of the Client Training Program for Project Management may substitute for one year of experience.
Job/class description:- Develops and monitors project plans, risk management plans, and project documentation from scope to post implementation. Ensures project documentation and deliverables are complete, on budget, within scope, and in accordance with standards.
- Identifies items that impact the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort. Monitors resource requirements based on project specifications. Ensures resources are assigned to meet project objectives while managing project hours budgeted.
- Responsible for the development, execution, and maintenance of project communications. Facilitates effective communications between all parties involved in the project and/or work efforts. This will include meetings, correspondence, status reports and other documentation.
- Identifies the impact of issues arising from the work efforts and/or resource requirements. Manages the project issues throughout the project life cycle. Communicates the implications of changes to the project scope with senior management and other appropriate parties.
- Responsible for ensuring all work efforts have appropriate documentation for audit purposes utilizing project methodology standards in accordance with the ISSM.

- Bachelor's degree- Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Work environment:- The Sr. Project Manager will report to a Portfolio Manager with a team of 8 - 10 Project Managers. Most project teams will range between 8 - 20 team members. This team supports various portfolios including Medicare Advantage, Blue Cross Association, Strategic Programs and Access and Security Management Portfolios.
- Fast paced, dynamic environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer and where one must be flexible to changing priorities.
Required education/equivalencies: - Bachelor degree(any major);
- OR, Associate degree (any major) plus 2 years of work-related experience;
- OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 9 years without a degree)
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
