Audit Associate

SEARCH Group Partners is seeking an Audit Associate for a large CPA firm located in downtown Salt Lake City.

The client is seeking an audit professional who has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (or a related field) supported by 1-3 years of audit work experience. The auditor will join the ever-growing audit team and be involved in all aspects of audit, attest, compilation and review engagements. Competitive candidates will have a thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and complex audit procedures and techniques.

Here are a few things you'll likely find yourself doing in this role...

• Working directly with the audit partner to conduct financial statement audits, attest, compilation and review engagements
• Assisting in the design and implementation of audit procedures
• Developing specific, customized procedures and budgets
• Preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with GAAP
• Acquiring a strong working knowledge of the client's business
• Resolving technical issues

Here's What you need to have...

• Advanced knowledge and experience with accounting and auditing procedures
• Creative and agile thinking with a genuine interest in growth and development
• Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to communicate engagement progress in a timely manner
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work both independently and in teams, to problem solve and efficiently deliver high-quality work within time constraints
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
• CPA license or eligibility is a plus.
