Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical
This job is located in Columbus, OH
Shift: Night 12 hours
As an Medical Surgical RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions. Your role will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical conditions, including physical, psychological, and emotional aspects.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on the assessed needs and medical treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring their effectiveness and potential side effects.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate and provide comprehensive patient care.
- Perform and assist with various medical procedures and interventions.
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and laboratory results, promptly reporting any significant changes.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care measures.
- Document all patient information, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing practice.
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Prior experience in a medical surgical setting (preferred).
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of common medical conditions, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Flexibility to work weekends as required.
- CPR certification.
