Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (12N), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Day: 12 hours

Job Description: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in coordinating the patient care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with established standards of practice. The RN-PCC (Registered Nurse - Patient Care Coordinator) applies the nursing process across all areas of practice, managing and providing healthcare and education to patients and their families during hospitalization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care Coordination:

    • Coordinates the patient care team to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.
    • Applies the nursing process to assess, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
    • Prioritizes patient care needs based on acuity and provides care accordingly.
  2. Clinical Expertise:

    • Performs specialized nursing care procedures as outlined in department/unit-specific competency profiles.
    • Stays current with advancements in nursing practice and incorporates evidence-based interventions into patient care.
  3. Communication and Documentation:

    • Coordinates patient encounters, admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently.
    • Maintains accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  4. Leadership and Team Development:

    • Provides leadership to the patient care team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
    • Actively contributes to the professional development of team members.
  5. Healthcare Education:

    • Educates patients and their families on health-related topics, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  6. Performance Improvement:

    • Identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes.
    • Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance the quality of care provided.
  7. Research and Professional Development:

    • Actively participates in medical and nursing research activities.
    • Engages in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of current trends and best practices in critical care nursing.

    • Qualifications:
    • Current RN license in OH or Compact State
    • BLS and ACLS certification
    • ONS Certification
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
