This position is responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise to an assigned area of the site. It is also responsible for collaboration with Production and Maintenance personnel and providing services related to design review, repair and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities. Additionally, this position provides technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshooting of problems, and monitoring PM and PdM programs. Finally, this position also ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools. Provide technical support to Maintenance Supervisor, specialists and craftsmen on difficult equipment repair issues. Provide troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability including emergency work reviews. Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems. Participate in the “Bad Actor” program and create action plans for improving reliability. Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources. Support the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness (Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc.). Establish, monitor and optimize Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) plans. Provide input for Maintenance Budget. Evaluate new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages. Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design and construction of projects in accordance with plant design requirements, Company standards and regulatory requirements. Broad based, hands on knowledge and experience with various types of mechanical equipment. Also must possess a solid understanding of maintenance work processes. Ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures along with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position. Knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance Desired: A general understanding of maintenance activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design. General knowledge of API and ASME codes, vibration analysis and equipment lubrication programs General knowledge of SAP
