Maintenance Manager LOCATED: Maintenance Manager responsible for managing and coordinating activities of employees, engaging in the maintenance of complex metal manufacturing equipment, including extrusion, annealing, cutting, and handling equipment. As a leader of the organization, Maintenance Manager will provide direction, guidance and coaching to the members of the Maintenance team to be the best-in-class Maintenance Department.
Responsibilities include: |
- Direct the personnel engaged in the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery and facilities, electronic and electrical repair, maintenance of building, repair of material handling equipment such as cranes and hoist and all other associated or related equipment.
- Actively promote plant safety and environmental programs and procedures that follow company and regulatory requirements, leading the Safety Excellence effort for team, striving for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
- Utilize creativity and positive outlook to accomplish a wide variety of tasks.
- Perform hands-on maintenance work.
- Direct and coordinate activities necessary for maintaining and repairing facility, grounds and structures.
- Oversee all maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Evaluate equipment reliability and take appropriate actions to improve performance.
- Provide mechanical expertise when necessary to reduce equipment downtime.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records as needed to properly track and maintain equipment status.
- Identify technical problems and provide practical solutions appropriate to the size and complexity of projects.
- Communicate successfully with other members of the maintenance team and ensure individual department managers are informed on equipment availability.
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Lead the focus on process and system continuous improvements.
- Complete documentation as required.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
- Cross-train, learn and support other functions or processes as required.

Skills Requirements: |
- In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles and procedures, including pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
- Practical experience in electrical and electro-mechanical a plus.
- AB Control Logix PLC programming and troubleshooting experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems and safety procedures, including lean and 5 S's.
- Honest and fiscally responsible
- Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills to assist the company in achieving its goals and growth.
- Proven ability to multi-task and set priorities under pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to details with problem solving and analytical skills.
- Flexible to work overtime or change shifts as required, including being on call for emergencies.
- Education equivalent to a two-year degree in maintenance mechanics or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in industrial maintenance management in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands of the Job: |
- Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
- Ability to lift and move parts/equipment up to 50 pounds.
