Purpose of the Job

The QA/QC Lead at Lake Turkana Wind Power is tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive quality policy and framework, ensuring all operations and projects adhere to the highest quality standards. This role is vital for enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring quality assurance across the business.

Key Activities and Accountabilities (what gets done)

Quality Management System and Framework

▪ Design and integrate a robust quality policy and framework into all LTWP operations.

▪ Define quality objectives and indicators to assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.

▪ Set up surveillance protocols to monitor project activities and identify quality issues.

▪ Define requirements for data packs documenting project progress and quality assurance activities.

Contractor Protocols and Plan Implementation

▪ Establish sign-off protocols for project milestones and deliverables.

▪ Perform gap analysis on current document management practices.

▪ Develop inspection test plans aligned with quality standards and specifications.

▪ Review, approve and monitor contractor quality plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs ) to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Develop an NCR Process and Tracking System:

▪ Develop and implement a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.

▪ Establish a tracking system to monitor and resolve non-conformances efficiently.

Education and Training:

▪ Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate staff on quality standards and practices.

▪ Mentor team members to ensure understanding and compliance with quality requirements.

Document Control and Revision Management:

▪ Implement robust document control processes for effective management of project documentation.

▪ Manage revision control to ensure accuracy and consistency across project documents.

▪ As Built and Red Line Drawings.

▪ To support the behaviour of working as LTWP, sharing best practice, and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business.

▪ To ensure full participation in the Performance Appraisal Review (PAR) process and maintain an up-to-date record of all training and development activities/programs.

▪ To always act and behave in a way compliant with all LTWP company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to values and behaviours, environmental health and safety, ethics and codes of conduct, as it is through living our values that we strengthen the culture of our business and demonstrate our understanding of our Code of Conduct.

▪ Any other duties deemed necessary and relevant by the management in the smooth running of the Wind Farm Site operations

Qualifications and Experience

▪ Minimum 6-8 years of experience in QA/QC roles, preferably in the energy or construction sectors.

▪ Degree in Engineering or related field.

▪ Expert knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems and standards.

▪ Robust document control and revision management skills.

▪ Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

▪ Proven track record of developing and implementing quality policies and frameworks.

▪ Experience in training and mentoring staff on quality procedures.
