Job Purpose:
The Area Sales Manager leads and manages the sales engineering team to drive business growth, achieve sales targets, and ensure customer satisfaction through technical expertise and strategic sales planning
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Team Leadership
- Lead, Mentor and manager the sales team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Provide inputs for designing training programs to enhance the technical and sales skills of the team
2. Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop business plans to capture them.
- Monitor market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
3. Customer Relations
- Maintain and develop relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Oversee customer interactions and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Resolve complex customer issues and provide technical support.
4. Project Management
- Oversee the execution of sales projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.
- Manage the customer payments and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with non-payments.
5. Technical Expertise
- Provide technical expertise and support to the engineering team.
- Ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.
- Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations for customers.
6. Sales Operations
- Ensure sales operations are executed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks during the sales process.
- Manage the sales pipeline and provide regular reports to senior management.
7. Collaboration
- Collaborate with other departments such as operations, and production to ensure smooth project implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Provide market feedback to the engineering team.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- More than seven (7) years in technical sales roles.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a sales engineering team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales principles and practices.
- Experienced in developing and implementing sales strategies.
- Ability to fluently converse in English & Arabic.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
