Asset Disposal Consultant
Onsite 5 days a week
12+ Months Job Responsibilities: Work independently or with local disposal leads to physically oversee and manage local technology Asset inventory within region of responsibility and Shipping of Assets to location for Disposal. Includes the following key tasks:
Work with local disposal team members to prepare technology assets for disposal and/or shipping events
Remove asset data bearing components (i.e. solid-state drives, hard drives, and other hardware declared data bearing)
Create manifests by identifying assets unique identifiers such as serial number for both chassis and drives, monitors, etc. utilizing firmwide asset inventory tools
Package and secure assets in approved containers, and record asset information into firm-approved tools
When necessary, coordinate and/or execute technology assets physical moves from point-to-point (ie, office space to storage)
Liaise with business admins, support teams, and others to coordinate and process local asset disposal and re-allocation requests, using firm approved and defined processes
Coordinate secure and standard shipping events with vendors and internal operational teams
Interact with local IT support, warehouse vendor, shipping vendors and data center teams on disposal event preparation
Prepare chain of custody documents and ensure asset handoffs are tracked along the deco and disposal workflow. This includes but is not limited to the use of the following firm approved tools: Service Now Request, Deco Tracker, Disk Tracker, Inventory systems, chain of custody records (e.g. bills of lading, certificates of destruction), etc.
Manage asset entry and exit between secure storage areas and production, following all firmwide guidelines and controls, and using firm approved tools
Adhere to global WSS inventory and asset management policy and procedures
Participate in global team communications and meetings from a regional or local support standpoint
Conduct occasional offsite visits to local logistics vendor facilities and *** locations if, and as needed
Skills Attention to detail and adherence to defined process and procedures is critical
Advanced skill in data manipulation or automation using Excel functionality
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Strong knowledge of IT Hardware Assets (workplace, server, networking, infrastructure) through a previous Asset role or through an IT support function
Excellent teamwork skills, capable of working effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions and roles, and able to interact effectively with all management levels
Strong communication skills essential written and verbal
Ability to switch context quickly and work on multiple streams of work concurrently
Proven ability to operate within cross-functional, matrix-managed teams
Ability to identify appropriate stakeholders within and beyond immediate team and work to build and maintain tight network/relationships with them
Self-starter able to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to requirements
Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision
Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Project).
Ability to build and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and leverage this to achieve work-related objectives
Education and qualifications
A+ Certifications desired
ITIL, PMP certified a plus
