Technical Manager

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to join our client's team in the mining industry. As the Technical Manager, you will oversee and coordinate technical activities related to mining operations. You will work closely with other departments to ensure efficient and safe production. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic company in the mining industry.

Responsibilities:

• Optimise and align plant operating and control philosophy;
• Audit of current operating and control philosophy against policy; gap analysis; guidelines to plants for aligning with requirements;
• Initial and periodic audits of metal accounting systems;
• Optimise the use of reagents and grinding media;
• Management of process test work aimed at trouble shooting process inefficiencies;
• Support of R&D project test work and design integration for projects aimed at improving concentrator efficiencies;
• Monitor and benchmark economic drivers for plant performance;
• Identification of opportunities to improve process stability;

Requirements

• BSc or BEng Degree in Chemical Engineering
• 7 years' post qualification experience in mineral extraction processes
• 3 years relevant experience in comminution and flotation
• Diverse experience in metallurgy and recovery of metalliferous minerals
• Previous experience as a Technical Manager in the mining industry
• Strong knowledge of mining operations and relevant regulations
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Experience in coordinating technical activities and optimizing production processes
