About the Role

At Clear Channel, we’re proud to be utilizing the latest engineering approaches to allow us to build innovative products that meet the needs of our Digital Out of Home (DOOH) advertising customers.

As we continue to expand our engineering group, we’re looking for an experienced Principal Software Architect to design, support, and oversee the evolution of our digital products.

You will be reporting into the Digital Director, and you will be expected to work with our cross-functional teams specifically in the UX/design, product, and DevOps squads, and stakeholders from across the company. You’ll also be working closely with peer Engineering Managers, and your own team of Engineers.

What you’ll be doing

• As our Principal Software Architect, you will be working closely with our cross-functional product and enterprise product teams ensuring they are developing products in line with the architectural design principles.
• You’ll be helping teams solve problems, leading debates, ensuring best practices, and setting the architectural policies and practices that teams must adhere to.
• You’ll be the owner and overseer of a whole systems approach and thinking across boundaries to identify which policies/processes should be standardized and which should differ.
• Provide guidance when evaluating the impacts of a solution to ensure linkages between structure, people, process, and technology are minimized.
• Makes decisions on product technology direction based on deep subject matter knowledge.
• Advocates for designing software that is scalable, resilient, and stable.
• Evangelize software design best practices, shape coding methodologies and best practices, and adoption of new technologies.
• You’ll be leading by example and promoting a supportive, inclusive, and can-do culture within the teams.

What we’re looking for

• Extensive experience designing and implementing B2B software architecture.

• Proven experience designing and developing software systems in a B2B, or B2B2C space.
• A strong understanding of distributed software systems, SaaS, and public cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
• Good knowledge and experience of Agile approaches to product delivery
• A solid software engineering background in multiple languages, databases, and architectures
• Experience supporting product engineering teams through mentoring and coaching
• Leadership skills with a proven ability to build and sustain good working relationships with engineers, product managers, UX/Designers, customers, and stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills supporting logical, effective, and timely decision-making
