About the role:
Reporting to the Team Lead, who in turn reports in to the Managing Director of the firm, this integral role will play a key part in building and maintaining the company’s online presence. The successful incumbent will be offered an autonomous platform to provide constructive support to the business and aid the ongoing development of the firm’s internationally recognised online platform.
Key responsbilities will include:
• Involvement in the entire software development lifecycle – including technical analysis, architecture design, software development, QA and release to production.
• Undertaking both front-end and back-end development, based on PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other technologies as needed.
• Ensuring continued smooth operation of the company’s online platform.
• Interacting with various stakeholders as needed – including senior managers, sales team, end users and technology partners.
• Analysing technology and infrastructure choices faced by the business and making recommendations, based on in-depth reviews and analysis of available options.
• Involvement in selection and management of technology partners and service providers.
Possibility for the role to evolve to “Team Lead” within 2 years, and to be given team leadership responsibilities
• Key skills to be demonstrated:
- In-depth knowledge of the company’s technology, online platform, and related issues and challenges
- Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to deal effectively with unfamiliar problems
- Effective verbal and written communication with management (including producing high-quality and structured management reports)
- Competence in non-technical aspects of team leadership (dealing with team interpersonal issues, team motivation, communication, etc.)
Requirements:
• Previous experience of managing front-to-back software development lifecycles.
• Excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders across all areas of the business.
• An ongoing commitment to providing a market leading service for internal stakeholders and for our international community.
The successful incumbent will be offered extensive support and training, initially out in Dubai, before beginning work in our offices in the heart of London’s West End.
