Network Systems Development Engineer

• The primary responsibility of the Network Systems Development Engineer, Information Technology, is to support network device configuration, backup and monitoring, account security controls, tool development, cyber security efforts, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and network design
• Build tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development and production environments
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems
• Design, implement, and maintain server, storage, network, and security infrastructure, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity architecture
• Where necessary, re-engineer infrastructure support to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning, and strategic vision
• Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to executive team, department leads, support staff, and end users
• Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts
• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's senior leaders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities
• Contribute to and embody the client culture adopting the core mission, vision and values and encouraging/requiring the same from the team
• Will research customer monitoring requirements and translate them into techniques and tools using COTS products
• Will research, compile, and deliver techniques, tools, configurations, templates, etc. for inclusion into the company intellectual property pool

• At least 7 years of system administration experience in Linux and FreeBSD environments
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and/or policy development
• Strong understanding and technical knowledge of current network and client and server operating systems (Linux/UNIX/Windows), hardware, protocols, and standards, cloud platforms like O365, AWS, and Azure
• Automation using tools like Ansible and Chef; Docker and Kubernetes are a plus
• Will gain knowledge on existing and emerging network monitoring and management systems and apply that knowledge to resolving customer network management challenges
• Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
• Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
• Ability to handle multiple jobs at the same time
• Excellent presentation skills
• Ability to effectively handle stress, pressures, and challenges
• Have in-depth knowledge of management goals and visions and work in line with team members to achieve them
• Experience developing in Perl, Python, C/C++, Go, C#, Java, or LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP)
• Deep understanding of Operating Systems such as Solaris, Debian, Slackware, FreeBSD, CentOS, and Windows 2012+
• Cybersecurity experience implementing PCI best practices
• Managing SIEM tools like Splunk, AlienVault, RAPID 7, or IBM QRadar
• Support existing internally built monitoring and provisioning systems comprised of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Perl)
• Advanced level understanding of Networks (VLAN, subnetting, routing, switching) (CCNA or equivalent experience)
• Familiar with configuring for Versa, Ciena, Fortinet, Cisco, Nokia, Juniper, Brocade, Adtran devices
• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting SMTP/IMAP/POP email servers (Dovecot, Courier, Postfix, Squirrelmail, Amavisd)
• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting web servers (Apache, IIS, nginx)
• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting database servers (MySQL, OpenLDAP, Postgres, SQLite)
• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network services (BIND, FreeRADIUS, TACACS, NetCool, Nagios, Cacti, SolarWinds, Munin, Rsync)
• Some web design skills will be required (HTML, JavaScript/CSS; Bootstrap, JQuery
• Comfortable with protocols such as but not limited to Telnet, SSH, SNMP, TL1, SOAP REST, DNS, SQL, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, HTTPS, FTP, SSL, TLS, SIP

• System development using frameworks like Syfmony for PHP a plus
• Experience implementing a Risk Management System
