Position Responsibilities:
· Perform creation/revision of the contents in Aircraft IPC/IPD Manuals using ATA100, ispec2200, S1000D standards.
· Analysis of Engineering drawings, modification documents, Service bulletins to identify the impact in Aircraft IPC/IPD manuals
· Research extensively to understand and ensure the Airworthiness aspects of Aircraft parts
· Reading, understanding and analyzing the bill of materials and drawing sheets to identify the replaceable parts on Aircraft, to understand the relationship between the parts, to identify the attaching hardware, etc.
· Understanding IPC/IPD engineering Interchangeability & assembly indenture concepts.
· Compares the manual content to incoming source data for the purpose of verifying technical accuracy
· Self-Quality check for the work performed.
· Analysis and Create illustration mark-ups
· Locate source data from the applicable engineering files and systems.
· Follows desktop procedures, publications standards and government/customer specifications for authoring.
· When required, programs documents for multiple SGML/XML, outputs by applying applicability rules within the structure of the text utilizing various authoring tools.
· Determines proper effectivity and applicability for each authoring job.
· Verify information and check for discrepancies. Make changes as required.
· Performs a thorough self-check of authored material utilizing quality check list.
· Meet production and quality standards.
· Uses effective communication to work through problems and ensures timely delivery of authoring tasks.
· Meet assigned schedules and deadlines.
· Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
· Develops technical solutions of limited scope and complexity for customers that optimize their operations, resolve emergent needs and regulatory compliance issues.
· Participates in the implementation of lean principles and technologies to support business unit initiatives and execution.
· Other duties as assigned by Manager
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
· 5 to 10 years of experience in Tech Publication IPC/IPD engineering authoring role.
· Possess an understanding of engineering job practices, techniques and standards.
· Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products functionality.
· Ability to prioritize for maximum productivity for multiple projects.
· Ability to define and document processes as required.
· Ability to identify potential issues, analyze and recommend improvements and alternate solutions.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Proven reasoning, analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
· Bachelor's degree in aeronautical or equivalent
· AME certified (BAMEL or BAMEC license holder preferred) or equivalent
Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor or equivalent) with relevant experience of 5+ years.
