Maintenance Manager

RPO Recruitment is currently partnering with a prominent mining company to search for a highly experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team. As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations at the company's mining facility in the Western Cape. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all equipment and infrastructure, while also leading and developing a high-performing maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies and programs to achieve operational excellence
• Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify potential issues and develop improvement plans
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize maintenance processes and drive continuous improvement
• Manage departmental budgets and control maintenance costs

Requirements

• BEng or BTech Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering 
• GCC Mines & Works
• Minimum 8 years engineering and maintenance experience of mining equipment 
• 3 - 5 years Management and leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices and reliability-centered maintenance principles
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Proven ability to plan and execute maintenance programs and projects
• Familiarity with mining regulations and safety standards
• Valid Drivers Licence
