NJ Licensed Clinical Social Workers(LCSW), Licensed Social Workers(LSW), Licensed Professional Counselors(LPC) or Licensed Associate Counselors(LAC) needed for a new contract school based position through an Essex County district. Position would entail providing therapeutic counseling services to at risk youth as referred by the School Social Worker or Counselor.
School Social Work or School Counselor Certifications are not required. Spanish or Portuguese speaking clinicians are needed. The position will require 8:30am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical services within the School District for students exhibiting significant emotional and behavioral problems or challenges
- Must demonstrate evidenced based approaches, specialty protocols and multiple modalities of therapy that include family therapy, individual therapy, and psychoeducation therapy
- Provide evidence of a track record of success that includes student improvement with grades, discipline, and attendance
- Meeting regularly with school staff to review student progress including but not limited to planning/debriefing meetings
- Conducting intake and evaluation services on newly referred students
- Providing clinical service documentation for each student in a comprehensive medical record, in accordance with appropriate professional standards. Each record will include at a minimum weekly progress notes of services provided, the names of students receiving the services, date, time and location of services, names of the professional staff providing the service within the context of a detailed clinical treatment plan
- As deemed appropriate; consult and make referrals for alternative levels of treatment
- Crisis intervention as needed
- Other responsibilities as needed which may include but not limited to mental health presentations for students and staff
Requirements:- Active NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC), Licensed Social Worker(LSW) and Licensed Associate Counselor(LAC)
- Minimum 2 years 'experience of providing psychotherapy to at-risk youth
- Knowledgeable of treatment and resources available to youth and adolescence
- Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to work often unsupervised
- Uphold professional standards as defined by the Division of Consumer Affairs and by specified disciplines Code of Ethics
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws including those related to Duty to Warn/Disclose, Child Abuse & Neglect, and HIPAA.
- Basic computer proficiency to utilize programs such as electronic healthcare record, Microsoft software and programs along with email
***This position offers either a fee-for-service opportunity providing just the school-based services or a full-time salaried position, which would include vacation, sick, medical, dental, and vision benefits. The full-time salaried position would require an additional 10 hours of in-home counseling outside of the Mon-Fri., 8:30am-3:00pm schedule assigned at the school. ***
