This is fully remote. We would like to have two in Las Cruces, two in Albuquerque, and one in Santa Fe, if possible. They may also be going to Emergency Rooms to meet members in real time, and we are willing to consider applicants who want/need weekend or evening shifts, since that is when the majority of our ER visits happen.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under supervision, this position is responsible for promoting a culture in which the voices representing people with lived mental health and substance use experiences and recovery become part of the institution; promoting a recovery oriented system of care; serving as a member advocate; providing support for staff and members during emergencies as well as in outpatient and inpatient settings; serving as a mentor/role model demonstrating competency in recovery, effective coping skills and self-help strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide guidance and training to care coordination staff regarding recovery and experiences of members seeking recovery.
2. Participate with licensed health professionals in care coordination plan of care development.
3. Lend insight to program development and administration from the perspective of a behavioral health member.
4. With Management, attend regional and statewide collaborative meetings.
5. Assist Management with presentations at local and regional planning councils.
6. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
7. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
8. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
9. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school Diploma or GED.
Peer Support Specialist certification.
Valid States Drivers License.
Current or past consumer of mental health or co-occurring behavioral health services.
2 years success within personal recovery model.
Ability to utilize individual and group skills.
Knowledge of local community behavioral health services. •
