Position: Senior R&D Engineer

Location: Onsite (Jena, Germany)

The Occlutech R&D team is responsible for the innovative development of new cardiac implant devices that enable physicians all over the world to save human lives every day. This motivated team of people works together and always focus on helping our customers to save and improve patient’s lives with innovative and highest quality products.

Your primary responsibilities as Senior R&D Engineer are innovation and new product development as well as common maintenance activities. This will include working together closely with Physicians, Marketing and Sales and all internal functions at the Company's international sites in Germany, Turkey and Sweden.

Aufgaben

Your work will focus on:

• Development of novel technologies and devices in close collaboration with physicians and external partners with special focus on design and procedure development
• Post market and maintenance engineering
• Performing design verification/validation studies, bench testing and technical documentation according to international medical device guidelines and regulations

Qualifikation

We are looking for a candidate, who

• holds a Master or PhD degree in an engineering field, preferably in biomechanical or biomedical engineering
• has extensive experience (at least 7 years) in an engineering department of a manufacturing company in a highly regulated environment, preferably R&D in a medical device company in the area of cardiology (class III devices)
• is experienced in the whole development process for medical devices, starting with an idea, creating requirements, design, V&V tests, up to providing relevant documentation for the submission to the notified body
• is an experienced team player who likes challenges
• acts like a mentor and coach to his teammembers and values knowledge transfer
• is fluent in written and spoken English (level C1), German language skills are a plus
• has already proven leadership experience in his field
• has good organization and time management skills
• is proactive and has a hands-on-mentality and open mindset
• is open to international travels (up to 2 times a month)
