Job Title: Senior Geologist/Environmental Engineer

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire (after 520 hours worked minimum)
OTHER:
1. 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification is REQUIRED and 8-hour refresher, if applicable.
2. Current work schedule is 75% in office and 25% field. If that shifts, we can adjust our mark-up to accommodate for additional insurance requirements.
SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGIST (or) ENGINEER
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Independently performs a wide variety of more difficult and complex geological and field tasks. Performs as a fully qualified professional proficient in the use of most geologic theories and practices. Some assignments involve the use of computer software applications (including spreadsheets, CAD, aquifer test analysis, etc.), as well as computer modeling of groundwater flow patterns. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs independent field work and gathers all types of field data pertinent to the assigned project.
Performs geological, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry analyses.
Develops materials and completes reports on finished field work.
Prepares geologic reports with some technical oversight.
Prepares and delivers technical papers.
Assists in preparation of proposals and cost estimates and in soliciting bids from subcontractors/suppliers.
May supervise one or more lower-level Geologists or Technicians, including reviewing geologic analyses, assessments, interpretations, and other types of reports.
May serve in an advisory capacity to senior management on specific geology-related matters.
May manage site investigation projects of varying size.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field and typically 5+ years of related work experience. Certification as a professional Geologist is preferred.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Proficiency in various computer software applications typically used in geological analyses is required. Also requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills and a thorough understanding of related environmental rules and regulations.
