JOB SUMMARY:
The HR Business Partner - Retail is responsible for providing coaching, counseling and support to assigned retail locations. This role is focused on fostering a vibrant and welcoming place to work and attracting, developing and retaining High Profile top talent. This role requires frequent travel to our dispensaries in Michigan.
JOB DUTIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the execution of personnel policies, procedures, and programs, providing guidance and interpretation to assigned business units.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and ensures legal compliance of state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
- Provide effective guidance and coaching to leadership and employees in the resolution of employee relations concerns and issues in compliance with company policies, practices and values.
- Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Enhance company culture by assisting with the roll out of new perks, partner with retail leadership to effectively deploy store team recognition, reward and improvement initiatives.
- Assist the talent acquisition team with attracting, assessing and hiring candidates as needed.
- Ensure new employees are set up for success, owns onboarding process for assigned High Profile stores, assist new hires in understanding the organization’s mission, structure, culture, benefits, policies and expectations.
- Support Talent Management initiatives by ensuring performance evaluations, individual development plans, succession planning and career pathing are being executed in an impactful way at the store level.
- Participates in the development, evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Ensure proper injury and incident reports are completed, support HR Administrator with workers compensation claim administration and reporting.
- Oversee employee terminations and departures; Conducts exit interviews with employees who voluntarily resign and follow up on feedback as appropriate.
- Contribute to HR team objectives and systems, including reporting on metrics as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years related experience, or equivalent.
- PHR, SPHR or other HR certification, strongly preferred.
- Experience working with hourly team members required; Experience in retail environment preferred.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; ability to correspond in a professional, businesslike manner.
- Strong (and current) knowledge of all laws and regulations pertaining to employment & labor laws.
- Knowledge of KPI’s and metrics.
- Proven ability to establish strong credibility and build relationships, operate in an environment of ambiguity, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; must display patience, humor and helpfulness for employee issues.
- Strong results- orientation and commitment to quality, performance and deliverables.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems and comfortable learning new systems.
- Effective multi-tasker with demonstrated ability to prioritize.
- Ability to stay connected and involved with Retail organization through frequent store visits, video/conference calls, attending staff meetings and company and team events.
- 50% travel to current/future Michigan Retail Stores expected.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location.
