Key Responsibilities:
· Assists with the processing of the bi weekly US and Canada payroll
· Ensure timesheets are authorised prior to processing
· Prepares pay by verifying time records; calculating and producing checks or electronic transfers; calculating and producing quarterly incentive bonuses
· Balances payroll accounts by auditing information, identifying and resolving discrepancies and initiating journal entries
· Determines payroll liabilities by entering federal and state income and social security tax information, 401k transfer and direct deposits, wage assignments and garnishments
· Meets payroll operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, resolving problems and identifying system improvements
· Ensures payrolls are approved by management prior to commit
· Meets payroll financial standards by providing monitoring accounting journals and costs, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
· Updates records by reviewing and entering changes in exemptions, insurance changes, deductions, paid-time not worked, status and pay and calculating vacation earned
· Fulfils wage garnishment requirements by completing forms, adjusting payroll records, documenting and transmitting withholdings and negotiating with collection agencies to convert garnishments to wage assignments
· File all statutory returns by deadlines set
· Maintaining Share Plan Schemes - by maintaining deduction records; completing forms and initiating deductions
· Maintains benefits and pensions via payroll by updating calculations; preparing check requests and initiating disbursements
· Remits tax payments by collecting and verifying data, preparing federal, state, and local tax reports, W2 statements and initiating payment
· Processes tax year end from start to finish
· Implements KPIs to record accuracy of payrolls
· Provides bi monthly issue log
Other Duties:
· Creating Payroll processes and process maps
· Update processes and process maps as changes occur
· Update business with any payroll legislation changes
· Auditing and reconciling bank statements, clearing payroll accounts and maintaining payroll general ledger accounts
· Partnering with project team to review and implement new payroll vendors as required
· Participate in implementing new country payrolls as required
· Assist other Payroll team members where necessary
· Adhere to Policy changes and ensure Management is advised
· Adhere to SLAs set by management
· Participate in any projects as set by Management
· Take on any adoc work as assigned by Management
Education:
Bachelor's preferred, but not required
Skills:
· Minimum of 5 years' experience with US Payroll
· Minimum of 1 year experience with Canadian and/or Global Payroll experience preferred
· Preferred experience working in a manufacturing environment with high percentage of non-exempt workers
· Preferred experience working with ADP payroll and time systems
· Preferred experience working with Workday
