Cath Lab Tech

This job is located in Anchorage, AK

As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will be a vital member of the cardiac care team, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Your expertise in operating specialized imaging equipment and assisting in interventional procedures will contribute to delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procedure Preparation:

  • Set up and prepare the catheterization laboratory and sterile field for cardiac procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.

• Assistance in Procedures:

  • Assist the cardiologist or cardiac surgeon during catheterization and interventional procedures.
  • Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment to visualize the heart and blood vessels.

• Patient Monitoring:

  • Monitor patient vital signs and electrocardiogram (ECG) during procedures.
  • Recognize and promptly report any significant changes in patient condition.

• Radiation Safety:

  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and yourself.
  • Utilize shielding devices and techniques to ensure safety.

• Post-Procedure Care:

  • Assist in patient recovery and transport to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or other designated area.
  • Monitor patients for any signs of complications or adverse reactions.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of cath lab equipment.
  • Report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate department.

• Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, including imaging, measurements, and other pertinent data.

• Collaborative Care:

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures.

Qualifications:

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) with Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CI) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
