We have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Shift Leader to join Norgine.
The person holding this position will report to our site head of production.
MAIN PURPOSE:
To work effectively in a team of three shift leaders to ensure the effective daily operation of the production environment. Specifically, to manage the process of manufacturing and packing of bulk products and ancillary staff to meet specified quality, quantity, delivery and health and safety requirements on site on any one shift.
Working a 12 hour shift and a 4 shift pattern, you will be required to complete the below:

Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• To manage departmental activities to ensure that:
• Ensure production's activities are effectively planned, organised and implemented.
• Raw materials are dispensed accurately within strict GMP discipline to satisfy manufacturing schedules.
• Materials used are accurately reconciled within specific limits and any variations effectively investigated.
• Agreed weekly production schedules are achieved.
• Company standards for product quality, material yields, staff performance, health and safety, facility cleanliness and preservation, document control and accuracy are consistently achieved.
• All applicable legal requirements are met and official guidelines followed.
• To support team leaders in the recruitment, training and management of departmental staff to ensure that:
• Personnel requirements are identified and suitable staff are selected to meet current and future needs
• Individuals and the team are developed to maintain and enhance performance Best use is made of the team and its members via the effective distribution of tasks and activities, the setting of clear objectives, the setting out of appropriate plans and methods of working and the provision of feedback on performance
• Staff are effectively trained to carry out all tasks they are responsible for
• To identify opportunities for improving operational activities and to plan, agree and successfully implement changes, including:
• Monitoring performance trends and developments and identifying changes designed to improve efficiency or effectiveness
• Presenting proposals and plans and agreeing recommendations to support the achievement of objectives
• Planning trouble shooting operations
• Defining packing equipment functionality requirements and operating procedures for new equipment
• Directing staff in technical matters relating to the introduction of new processes and equipment in accordance with Company standards and regulatory requirements To effectively manage delegated elements of the production department's budget, including:
• Making recommendations for capital and revenue expenditure which clearly state expected benefits (and any expected risks) and which are consistent with plans and objectives
• Monitoring and controlling expenditure against budget, taking prompt corrective action when necessary.
• To lead designated projects through planning and preparation, co- ordination and implementation, and closure stages to achieve project outcomes within agreed time scales and budgets: to provide specified levels of support in specified sections of a project as required.
• To establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels and to effectively represent the interests of the Company in dealings with key stakeholders
• To continuously develop personal competencies and to optimise personal use time and other resources to meet objectives
Knowledge & Skills:
HND or equivalent level of qualification is essential
Have leadership experience.
The job holder should have a an extensive level of experience in managing within a similar position, and be fully conversant in the day to day running of a factory environment.
To have extensive experience in adopting Lean Six Sigma techniques, ideal candidate will be green belt trained.
The jobholder should have excellent inter personal, administrative and leadership skills, financial awareness and the ability to organise his or her own workload.
The ability to react efficiently and effectively to the wide range of problems that can occur is essential.
A wide operating knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, especially in manufacturing and packaging.
A thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems, cGMP and Health and Safety legislation relating to this job.
Thorough understanding of the Regulatory compliance requirements within Europe, Japan and the USA
