Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the facility. This position involves handling the incoming and outgoing shipments of scrap materials, ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely processing. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing various tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Receive incoming shipments of scrap materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
• Weigh, measure, and record incoming materials.
• Generate shipping documentation and inventory records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and orderliness in shipping and receiving areas, including storage yards, warehouses, and loading docks.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift experience required
• Prior experience in shipping and receiving operations, preferably in a scrap yard, recycling facility, warehouse, or similar industrial environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
