The right individual will have the following qualifications:
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED-Excellent excavator/heavy equipment operating skills.
- Must have experience loading and unloading trucks with grapple and/or operate shear.
- Makes safety #1 priority.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Works well with a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in srcap metals is a plus.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities of the Equipment Operator/Material Handler
- Operate material handler/excavator to move, manage and organize metals.
- Appropriately identify, handle, sort and process focus materials.
- Load and unload trucks in a safe manner.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Perform the staging and inspection of materials.
- Report non-conforming materials.
- Assists in other areas of the business when required.
- Identifies potentially hazardous materials or potentially hazardous situations and addresses them properly.
- Assist with organization of steel yard and make space for new product daily; maintains a neat and orderly work.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections on equipment before operating and notifies Team Lead of any equipment issues before operating.
Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday
