Heavy Equipment Operator

The right individual will have the following qualifications:

• EXPERIENCE REQUIRED-Excellent excavator/heavy equipment operating skills.
• Must have experience loading and unloading trucks with grapple and/or operate shear. 
• Makes safety #1 priority.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Works well with a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in srcap metals is a plus.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities of the Equipment Operator/Material Handler  

• Operate material handler/excavator to move, manage and organize metals.
• Appropriately identify, handle, sort and process focus materials.
• Load and unload trucks in a safe manner.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Perform the staging and inspection of materials.
• Report non-conforming materials.
• Assists in other areas of the business when required.
• Identifies potentially hazardous materials or potentially hazardous situations and addresses them properly.
• Assist with organization of steel yard and make space for new product daily; maintains a neat and orderly work.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections on equipment before operating and notifies Team Lead of any equipment issues before operating.

Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday
