Lead Engineer - Energy Centre

Agency statement: We are currently resourcing this role through our internal Talent Acquisition Team so we do not require agency support at this time. We will utilise our supplier partners on our PSL only when we need to.

The recipe!

Overseeing the day-to-day Energy Centre at our site in Burton Latimer and our Corby boiler house operations.

This role will support, implement, and maintain safety practices as required through Weetabix and external standards, and will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices

·       Ensure associated Energy Centre and CHP routine testing is completed to satisfy both Legal obligations and Standard compliance.

·       Support other key Asset compliance activities associated with Energy Centre & Corby Boiler House operation such as PSSR, PUWER & LOLER.

·       Provide support for our Sustainability & Environmental activity programme i.e. Carbon Management, Trade Effluent Compliance.

·       Complete level 1/2/3 safety audits for the Energy Centre.

·       Liaise with contractors for routine and ad hoc work required for the Energy Centre and other services such as Compressors and Insurance inspections.

·       Manage repairs and maintenance for the Energy Centre via Weetabix CMMS system (Mainsaver).

·       Help to create and drive energy-saving initiatives alongside the Energy Systems Manager.

·       Manage Energy Metering Devices across the estate and report data for internal and external auditing purposes.

Requirements

Qualifications are not always the 'be-all and end-all' and we really value your wealth of experience, however for some roles that are governed by legislation we will ask for specific qualifications and achievements. We will ask for evidence of these during the process.

Non-negotiables:

• Hold an Engineering Qualification: HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical/Energy
• Possess experience and knowledge of Asset Maintenance & compliance conformance
• Using energy/system data to make recommendations and decisions.
• Have a strong sense of ownership and a proactive mindset.
• Utilise excellent relationship-building skills to earn trust with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Office, with a focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

We also ask that you have;

• Alignment to Weetabix values

• Always curious to find new ways to do business!
• Ability to demonstrate how you keep up to date in your field of expertise.

Nice to haves:

• Have a good understanding of Health and Safety procedures – Ideally IOSH/NEBOSH Certification.
• BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) qualified
• Boiler House and CHP operational experience
• Experience of working in multiple functions
