Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a frontend (React, Javascript) engineer to help us expand and improve our online member experience. As a developer on the Member Platform team, you will work with the product group and a small team of front and back-end developers. You’ll be working to build new features that will help navigate our members to the genomics and follow-up care that matter for them. As an Agile team, we’ll always be looking for your help to continuously improve our processes, practices, and code quality. As a distributed team, we’ll need you to be engaged, helpful, self-motivated, and a great communicator.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $130-170k base

Responsibilities:

• Write high quality maintainable, scalable, secure, and reliable code.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other engineers to carry features from inception to deployment.
• Help develop and apply processes, practices, and standards for engineering quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Provide support for code in production.

Requirements:

• Has at least 6 years’ experience in production web software development.
• Has a primary focus and interest and at least 4 years’ experience in front end development on a public facing, in production application in React.
• Has some AWS back-end experience and a willingness to pinch hit if needed.
• Enjoys being helpful, communicative, considerate, and engaged in consensus building.
• Loves to strategize the right sized solution to the right problems in the right order.
• Is interested in a small team right now and is up for helping it grow in the coming years.
• Enjoys keeping up with where the wind is blowing but is not a bleeding edge early adopter.

Required Technologies: Javascript, React, Typescript, Git, and at least one unit and integration testing framework

Close Second: Auth0 integration, Python, AWS services (DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, Api Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, etc.)

Nice to Have: Experience with Redux, HIPAA, HITRUST, Salesforce, and public facing applications (as opposed to internal tooling), and healthcare and/or biotech industry experience is also preferred.

Typical Education: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field and 3+ years in relevant industry software development experience, or alternatively 5+ years relevant industry software development experience.
