Our Kaiwhakahaere Putea | Finance Manager will bring a level of financial capability that enables us to continue on our journey of growth and aspirations for our whānau, community and Rangitāne.
The position works closely with the Manahautū | General Manager and Leadership Team, providing effective financial support and guidance on our financial plans, budgets, expenditure, compliance and risk. As the stand-alone finance role for Te Kete Hauora, you’re expected to not only get the work done, but do what is needed and to a high standard for our organisation and whānau.
Communication is central to much of your mahi – you need to communicate effectively and develop trusted, professional relationships with management, colleagues and kaimahi | employees. You are the go-to person for finance questions.
As part of the collective Rangitāne entities, you’ll regularly work with and have technical support from other finance positions, Board members and our external accountants. Given the nature of our organisation, there are multiple reporting requirements (internal and external) that you need to deliver on time and to a high standard.
You appreciate (and enjoy) workable systems and the importance of good compliance. A great deal of work has been done to get our finance systems and compliance to its current state. Our intention is to keep this momentum and continuously improve.
Being a details person is an obvious must for this role - balanced with common sense. You’ll know your priorities and manage your own workload, identifying when you need additional support for those peak times.
As already mentioned, relationships really are at the heart of our mahi allowing us to work together as one (Kotahitanga). This approach enables you to respectfully hold firm with your decision making and rationale when needed.
Understanding Rangitānetanga, Te Reo me ōna Tikanga is important to our kaupapa. If you are not confident in your knowledge and skills in these areas, we encourage you to discuss this with us anyway. What is essential is an acceptance, respectfulness, and willingness to grow your knowledge and understanding as part of our organisation.
When it comes to experience, you’ll bring a level of finance / accounting expertise that is backed up by a relevant accounting / finance qualification or equivalent experience and management or related qualifications are preferred.
