Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is seeking a qualified full-time mid-Leve Technical Writer for a new opportunity to support our government customer.

LOCATION: Arlington, VA/Hybrid

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY - Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION The mid-level Technical Writer performs advanced (mid-level) technical writing work, coordinating the composition, organization, and editing of compiled information. Independently perform the most complex technical writing work and may prepare and refine material for speeches and public presentations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
Coordinates the display of graphics and the production of the document.
Ensures content is of high quality and conforms with standards.
Composes, reviews, and edits technical documents, materials, and reports.
Researches, develops, and disseminates information on techniques for organizing and presenting information.
Arranges for the duplication and distribution of documents, publications, and reports.
Consults with staff in the development of materials.
Prepares responses to correspondence, reports, surveys, questionnaires, and other requests for information.
Reviews, analyzes, and summarizes documents.
Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least 5+ years of Technical Writing experience in a federal environment.
Must have MS Project experience
Must be a US Citizen
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Skill in writing technical and business documents and using a computer and applicable software.
Ability to conduct research; to compose, review, illustrate, and edit technical documents, materials, and reports; and to communicate effectively.

CLEARANCE

Must have an active US government public trust security clearance.

HOURS OF OPERATION
The worksite location will be performed predominantly at the Government offices during core business hours of 7:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, on a regular 40-hour-per-week schedule unless otherwise required by the Manager. Our government customer reserves the right to alter individual work locations(s) and schedules. Additionally, contractors may be required to provide support during evenings and weekends outside the core hours of operations as needed (e.g., emergencies, system maintenance activities, tasks, and projects) and authorized by the Manager.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as generally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Sponsorship will not be a part of this contract.
Must successfully complete a Blue Sky and customer background screening.
