The Solutions Engineer role involves a variety of responsibilities ranging from pre-sales to on-boarding and ongoing management and maintenance of partnerships:
- Support the Enterprise, Government, Education and International teams in securing new business. Pre-sales conversations by offering technical product advice in support of the sale, enhancing value to customers and making cost effective use of existing product features.
- Work alongside the HEI partnerships and content teams to onboard new partners. Ensuring partners receive the best use of the platform. Enable new commercial partners to start using FutureLearn quickly and effectively.
- Ensure partners and internal teams of FutureLearn are informed and supported. Regular management and maintenance services to partners to ensure that they are satisfied with the FutureLearn platform and that it is working as expected.
What does success look like?
Pre-sales
- Collaborate with Sales and Partnerships teams to ensure that the solutions they are offering to partners are available on the FutureLearn platform. This may involve verifying technical capabilities, integrations, and any other requirements needed to deliver the proposed solutions.
- Help the Growth team come up with viable solutions to proposals by providing technical expertise and insights. This could include understanding partner requirements and aligning them with the capabilities of the platform, as well as identifying potential technical challenges and providing solutions to overcome them.
- Conducting technical feasibility assessments and providing guidance on what is technically achievable on the FutureLearn platform.
Partner onboarding
- Assist partners with technical on-boarding to the FutureLearn platform. This could include providing technical documentation, conducting training sessions, and guiding partners through the technical setup process to ensure a smooth on-boarding experience.
- Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions by understanding partner needs and aligning them with the capabilities of the platform. This may involve conducting needs assessments, identifying technical solutions, and providing guidance on how the platform can address partner requirements.
Management
- Provide hands-on technical support to partners when necessary. This may involve troubleshooting technical issues, providing guidance on platform usage, and resolving any technical challenges that partners may face.
- Collaborate with partnership managers and the content team to provide solution expertise to partners, supporting them in delivering their digital objectives. This may involve providing technical guidance, best practices, and recommendations on how partners can optimise their usage of the FutureLearn platform.
- Provide technical feedback to product managers and engineers regarding improvements, customer experience (CX), and user experience (UX) on the platform. This may involve identifying areas of improvement, suggesting enhancements, and providing insights on how the platform can better meet partner needs.
- Act as a conduit between product and sales, educating the sales team and customers on product updates, roadmap, and other technical aspects of the FutureLearn platform.
- Align with partner support and learning technologists to understand frequent partner issues and requests, and collaborate on finding solutions to address them.
- Create, maintain, share, and present collateral to support internal teams and partners in understanding the FutureLearn platform. This may include technical documentation, training materials, and other resources to enhance understanding and knowledge about the platform.
What you will bring to the role:
- 4+ years of experience in Solutions, Pre-sales or Customer Success engineering, preferably in Enterprise software
- Hands on technical experience in a software role
- Strong communication skills, be comfortable negotiating with stakeholders and discussing problems and solutions
- A commercial mindset and experience within an Enterprise SaaS / B2B setting
- A strong desire to become the subject matter expert on our platform and available integrations
- You’re a people person - you’re curious both from a customer and technical perspective, keen to develop solid working relationships to drive better outcomes for customers and the business
- You’ll enjoy learning, teaching & sharing your experience with your colleagues in various ways
What we will offer you?
- Salary £40,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
