Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerospace structures.
As a Business Development Manager for Composite Solutions at NDS, you will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth in this dynamic segment. You will be at the forefront of identifying and capturing new business opportunities, leading to profitable revenue expansion. This highly visible position demands a proactive, high-energy individual with a proven track record in the Composites industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Business Growth: Spearhead the development and execution of effective business capture strategies to organically grow the Composite Solutions product line. Focus on securing new business opportunities and enhancing revenue through strategic client engagement and innovative business practices.
• Leadership and Team Coordination: Lead customer-inclusive Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and collaborate with cross-functional program teams to maintain and enhance relationships on existing programs. Your leadership will ensure the alignment of team efforts with business goals.
• Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Analyze market trends and gather intelligence to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate competitive landscapes to shape business strategies, making informed recommendations for pursuit tactics and investment in innovation and research development (IR&D).
• Proposal Development and Analysis: Critically assess both successful and unsuccessful proposals to refine future proposals. Develop strategies to re-engage potential clients who previously did not select our offerings, considering changing market conditions.
• External Engagement and Networking: Represent NDS at trade shows and industry forums to elevate company brand and network. Build robust relationships with potential customers and key decision-makers to establish a strong market presence.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Interface with a matrix team including Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and more, to leverage collective expertise in crafting compelling business proposals and executing new opportunities.
Requirements:
• Proven Experience: Extensive experience in business development, specifically within the Composites sector, is essential. A successful track record of capturing new business and driving revenue growth.
• Leadership Qualities: High-energy, creative, and a resourceful self-starter with strong leadership skills and business acumen.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate. Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
• Analytical Skills: Skilled at analyzing market data, trends, and competitive environment to inform strategic decisions.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications related to business development or sales are highly preferred.
• Prior Military experience is desired with knowledge of DoD acquisition processes
• BS Degree and 10+ years of technical, composites-specific experience in Defense/Aerospace field.
• Knowledge of the Composite Industry is required and extremely important.
• Existing Market knowledge and competitor insight is required.
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skill. MS Office Suite proficiency with the ability to work remotely utilizing mobile platforms.
• Due to high visibility, proper professional image, attire, and behavior are expected.
• Demonstrated success in capturing new opportunities.
• Ability to work independently in complex environments.
• Ability to facilitate presentations to senior NDS leadership in a professional manner.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into specific actionable tasks.
