Do you have a passion for grocery retail and collaborating on creative content? The Grocery Division Content Manager, Social Media, is a crucial part of our Social-Media Centre of Excellence (COE). This role serves as the bridge between the Creative team and our business partners, ensuring that fresh ideas are not only developed but also aligned with business goals and successfully brought to life.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on collaboration—someone who can effortlessly partner with creative teams to build on their ideas, refine and “businessify” them, and help sell them through to stakeholders. This role requires a balance between creativity and strategic thinking, enabling the successful ideation and execution against media plans and strategies.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborating on Creative Content: You'll bring fresh ideas to life across our key grocery banners, including Loblaw, Your Independent Grocer, No Frills, and Real Canadian Super Store. Your expertise in storytelling will help pitch compelling initiatives for our social communities.
- Managing Content from Conception to Post-Production: You’ll ensure everything moves smoothly from concept through to post-production, managing timelines, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging consumer and content insights.
- Being a Platform Expert: You stay ahead of trends by actively consuming content, using your deep understanding of social platforms to guide team contributions.
- Overseeing Production: You'll work hands-on during production, coordinating with our test kitchen and stores, managing talent, and ensuring smooth production processes.
- Attending Briefings and Update Meetings: You’ll ensure all assets receive final approvals and that the transition from concept to execution is seamless.
- Pitching and Championing Ideas: You'll pitch, present, and advocate for ideas to our business partners, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Building Strong Cross-Functional Relationships: You’ll work closely with Brand teams, the LA/Media Team, and external partners to ensure successful project execution.
- Exploring New Formats and Platforms: You’ll maintain a curious mindset, always looking to adapt and explore new formats, platforms, and ways of working with a strong understanding of paid media best practices.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Relevant Education: You have a post-secondary education in Social Media, Mixed Media, Communications, or related studies, equipping you with a solid foundation in the field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: You’re skilled in using Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ensuring efficient workflow and communication.
- Exceptional Interpersonal Communication: Your superior communication skills enable you to build strong relationships and become a trusted colleague who understands and advocates for our collective brands.
- Social Copywriting Skills: While not required, the ability to write crisp, clean, and compelling social copy is a valuable asset that you may bring to the table.
- Self-Motivation and Time Management: You’re highly motivated and self-managed, with excellent time management skills. You can prioritize, communicate, and maintain deadlines effectively, understanding the importance of developing project management expertise in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Attention to Detail: You deliver best-in-class work, with a keen attention to detail, exceptional file organization, and the ability to follow processes and ask targeted questions to drive clarity and results.
- Positive Problem-Solving Approach: You bring a positive and proactive attitude to problem-solving, collaborating effectively with your team and stakeholders to overcome challenges and achieve goals.
